An Alliance With His Enemy Princess Review
She’d rather die first.
These words are the mantra of Gwennan, who fights valiantly against Sir Rolant as he tries to befriend her.
You see, dear reader, Gwennan is the Princess of Wales. The Normans destroyed her family. Gwennan then goes undercover to seek revenge and save her homeland from these beastly men. Meanwhile, Sir Rolant is the Norman invader who is more than he appears.
Gwennan and Rolant trade jibes like an old married couple, but it is most entertaining. Rolant is bent on befriending Gwennan, but she wants nothing to do with it. Though, the mutual attraction is hard to ignore.
I’m not going to lie, friends. When Lissa approached me to read this book, I actually squealed right out loud. Not only is this a historical novel, but it is from the medieval era. Anyone who knows me knows I can’t resist a book rich in history. And this one has it in spades.
Of course, the brilliant characters make it all that more enjoyable. Lissa had me laughing right from the beginning with the witty banter between Gwennan and Rolant. I couldn’t get enough of these two. Lissa also threw a giant curve ball in there with a shocking twist that had my mouth gaping open.
I loved every minute of this novel, so it’s easy to award An Alliance with His Enemy Princess a full 5 out of 5 stars. History nerds like me will love this romantic, witty story.
